Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how browse.love collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the website, connect an X account, scrape bookmarks locally with the browse.love browser extension, upload bookmark bundles, and generate private or public taste profiles.

1. Information we collect

  • X account identifiers such as user ID, username, display name, and profile image when you connect an account.
  • Session data, signed cookies, and OAuth state needed to authenticate you and keep your workspace active.
  • Imported or synced bookmark data, which may include post text, URLs, media URLs, timestamps, tags, metrics, and related metadata.
  • Derived outputs such as color signatures, topic signatures, summaries, wiki seeds, similarity scores, and public profile documents.
  • For the browse.love browser extension, the latest locally scraped bookmark bundle is stored in browser extension local storage until it is replaced by a newer scrape or uploaded through the product flow.
  • Basic technical and usage information such as browser type, approximate device information, request logs, and analytics events.

2. How we use information

  • To authenticate you and maintain your connected X session.
  • To import, normalize, and analyze bookmark data.
  • To generate visual and semantic profile outputs, including gallery views, color filtering, clustering, search, and similarity ranking.
  • To publish a public profile only when you choose to make one public.
  • To let the browser extension save a local scrape first and upload it to browse.love only when you choose to do so.
  • To secure the service, detect abuse, debug failures, and improve reliability and product quality.
  • To understand aggregate usage through analytics.

3. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

browse.love uses cookies and similar storage mechanisms to keep you signed in, complete OAuth flows, and maintain workspace state. The browser extension uses browser extension local storage to keep the latest locally scraped bookmark bundle on your device until it is replaced or cleared. browse.love also uses analytics tooling, including Google Analytics, to measure traffic and product usage at an aggregate level.

4. Public profiles

Public profile publication is intended to be opt-in. If you publish a public profile, browse.love may display the derived profile artifact, summary, bookmark counts, color and topic signatures, selected metadata, and similarity relationships to other public profiles. If you choose to include public identity fields such as your X handle, avatar, or profile link, those fields may also be displayed publicly.

5. Sharing and service providers

browse.love does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that help host, store, secure, analyze, or operate the service, with X when required to complete authentication or authorized API access, or when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights and safety.

6. Storage and retention

Tokens and service data may be stored in third-party infrastructure used by browse.love, including hosting, database, queue, and analytics providers. We retain information for as long as needed to operate the service, maintain your workspace, support public profiles you choose to publish, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies. Data may remain in backups or logs for a limited time after deletion or unpublishing.

7. Your choices

  • You can choose whether to connect an X account or use local upload flows instead.
  • You can disconnect your X account.
  • You can choose whether to publish a public profile, and you can unpublish it later.
  • You can clear the extension from your browser to remove locally stored scrape bundles from that browser.
  • You can request deletion of your browse.love account data or public profile data through the contact channel listed on browse.love.

8. Security

browse.love uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information we store. No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International processing

browse.love and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. By using the service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection rules than your home jurisdiction.

10. Children

browse.love is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
